They are all disposable paper plates, disposable utensils and cutlery, disposable cups that will safely compost back into the soil within a few months of disposal. Now it’s the right time to party! Several offices and companies are currently using biodegradable plates and utensils in their break room, and I encourage you to bring up the idea of using eco-friendly plates and utensils at your office! The biodegradable bags were also very strong and it’s just a great replacement to anything made out of plastic.

World Centric going the extra mile: Kim is working with cities that currently don’t do composting or don’t have an area to do so, imagine if she can convince even one city to do that?! If you live in an apartment complex, you can ask management to consider providing an area for composting.
Cities ahead of the game: Seattle passed a law in 2003 requiring all houses to have a composting bin. San Francisco has just passed a law which requires people to sort their food scraps (which will be collected in a separate bin). Know of other cities that mandate or encourage composting?
